Google has just released Chrome 138 (v138.0.7204.49/50), packed with AI-powered enhancements, cross-device tab group sync, OCR PDF features, and important security upgrades. Let’s dive into what’s new 👇
1. AI Features Go Deeper (Gemini Required)
Chrome’s built-in Gemini AI integration now powers several helpful tools:
Summarizer API: Quickly condense long articles.
Language Detector API: Detects text language automatically.

Prompt API for Extensions: Lets third-party extensions tap into Gemini’s AI capabilities.
2. Tab Group Sync Between Desktop & Mobile

3. OCR Support for Scanned PDFs
Chrome can now OCR scanned PDF text, making it selectable and searchable. Handy for research and document management .
